From 11 to 16 March 2026, Sr Lara Morelli visited the community in Jerez to meet the sisters and share with them the life and mission of the community.
The community is composed of three sisters – Sr Arantza (on the right in the photo), Sr Pilar (in the centre) and Sr Maria-Jesus (on the left). They live in a neighbourhood – San Telmo – outskirts of the city of Jerez; a poor neighbourhood, with a high number of elderly and lonely people, but also characterised by problems such as unemployment and drug trafficking. The sisters simply share their daily lives with the people, stand by their side and actively participate in the life of the parish community.
Sr Arantza, prioress of the Jerez community, tells us: “We thank Sr Lara for spending time with us. We shared moments together, exchanged information, prayed and enjoyed a walk along the beach and in the countryside. We took part in the Way of the Cross in the neighbourhood, organised by a parish group. The texts referred to places at war, invoking peace. Sunday was a day of prayer for peace, just as Sister Viviana had suggested.”
