COMMUNITY DEPENDENT ON THE GENERAL GOVERNMENT

The community has been present in Jerez in the popular neighborhood of San Telmo since 1973.
Today the community is made up of three sisters who seek to live in a simple way the charism received from our Foundress Mother Gérine Fabre; “to make visible and close the mercy of the Father.”
Living within the neighborhood, among the people, facilitates the mission of accompanying them and sharing with them who we are and what we have, with the desire that – in some way – people may discover that God welcomes them, listens to them, is close to them.
Specifically, the community’s mission is expressed through the following activities:
Sick of Siloé. Siloè is the name of an association that has a structure in Jerez where people with severe disabilities and in situations of dependency are welcomed and cared for, offering comprehensive assistance aimed at improving quality of life and overall well-being. The Sisters volunteer daily at this association
Health Ministry. The sisters visit the sick and the elderly living in the neighborhood offering them concrete help as well as closeness, presence and spiritual support.
Prison Ministry. The sisters regularly visit the prisoners and are involved – together with other lay people – in organizing pastoral activities dedicated to them.
Promotion of women through a sewing workshop – open every day – in the neighborhood.
“Fraternity Circle”: the sisters participate in an ecumenical meeting held once a month in the central square of Jerez.
