From 1 to 4 February 2026, the 2nd Annual Assembly of the Delegation of Uganda “Our Lady of Martyrs” was celebrated in Namugongo.
The Assembly was attended by the Prioress General, Sr. Viviana Sisack, who arrived in Uganda on 13 January for the canonical visit to the three communities of the Delegation, and the Assistant General, Sr. Paulina Ogbonnaya.
The Annual Assembly for a Delegation is a time of meeting, reflection, formation, evaluation, and renewal of life and mission. It is a time of deep listening to the Spirit who speaks through all the sisters gathered together, called to read the reality and ask themselves how the charism can be ever more incarnated in the context in which they live, how to respond to the challenges present today in Uganda.
The guiding theme of the Assembly was: HOPE DOES NOT DISAPPOINT (Rom 5:5). As pilgrims, we walk towards unity and growth in our young Delegation.
Below is the testimony of Sr. Philomena Imalingat, who professed her first vows on November 15, 2025, and who took part in her Delegation’s Assembly for the first time.
Assembly a place of encounter with each other and together with each other, for the common good of all. I describe it as a solution at our door step.
A place to long for, a place every Dominican will wish to be, honestly a place to miss, I feel the deliberations are fruitful.
On a beautiful Monday morning, I was still enjoying the Lucid weather when I was taken aback to witness a beautiful confraternity of Mother Gérine in the heart of “Our Lady of Martyrs” Uganda Delegation.
All were determined to listen with the ears of the heart and to contribute towards the growth and good of all I witnessed and participated in the exchange of ideas, information, formation and transformation.
I personally admit that I enjoyed love, care, respect, patience, openness, fraternal correction and sharing our achievements, pains, joys and plans.
I am convinced that here every daughter of Mother Gérine felt a strong sense of belonging.
Indeed it’s rewarding when sisters dwell in unity one in heart and soul. We are surely loved by the God of truth who liberated and saves.
What a great encouragement! To see our dearest Prioress General -Sr. Viviana Sisack – and our General Councillor Sr. Pauline giving inputs and support to our young Delegation.
God’s full presence and constant invocation of the Holy Spirit provided assured protection from above with Mother Mary watching over her daughters.
The beautiful daily homilies during mass were a great spice.
Lord thank you for making me part of the assembly participants.
I look forward for such a kind.
